iHateSpam's installation process is time consuming, but they provide a step-by-step "Getting Started" process to acclimate you with their Spam filtering process. It will automatically populate your friends list. It also allows you to mark selected folders in your email program to check for additional friends. You have an option during every process of the "Getting Started" process to exit and skip the tutorial.

The creators of iHateSpam were very thorough when designing this filter. It has the simplicity for anyone to use, yet power-user features that allow you to get into most of the nitty-gritty details. This is a solid product that gets my recommendation, despite the few minor rough edges found in any brand-new product. The new version shows that they listen to their customers' feedback and are working very hard to make their product shine.

This program is absolutely great! No problems on the install and it catches 95% of the spam I get right off the bat. Its "bounce" feature helps take you off spamming lists by essentially fooling the senders into thinking that the email address is not valid. It must be working because the total amount of spam I've been receiving has been declining rapidly over the past 2 weeks of IHateSpam use.
